Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a specialized form of behavioral therapy that is usually carried out by psychologists or behavior analysts.  Behavior therapy approaches believe that all behavior develops for functional reasons. Sometimes these function are not healthy and cause more problems than the function they serve. ABA therapists use a carefully designed system of reinforcement to teach skills and shape behaviors while addressing the underlying function of the behavior.
