Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the most comprehensive, intensive, and data driven approach to understanding, expanding, and modifying behavior. It is based upon decades of psychological and behavioral research and is generally considered to be the gold standard of interventions for individuals with Autism and other developmental disabilities. The principles of ABA are utilized to assist people in developing the skills needed to expand their independence and be successful in meeting their potential. The specific adaptive skills that may be targeted are almost limitless and are selected based upon individualized assessment and treatment planning. Whether it is utilized in learning new skills, enhancing existing skills, or changing patterns of difficult behavior, ABA has been shown to be an effective path to success.
